For Artists requesting a personal badge and gallery Owners/Admins requesting an organization badge.

Artist and gallery verification

Request a verification badge for your account or organization, understand eligibility and the review lifecycle, and learn how the blue check appears once approved.

Overview

Verification confirms that an account genuinely represents the artist, gallery, curator, or institution it claims to be. Once approved, a blue check badge appears next to your name (and, for organizations, on the org profile and its space cards) so viewers can recognize authentic profiles. You can request one for your personal account (from your settings) or for an organization you own or administer (from its settings).

All verified accounts display the same blue check, whatever account type you select. The category you choose is for the review team only.

Where to request

  • Artist (personal) — open Settings from your profile and go to the Verification section.
  • Gallery (organization) — open the organization's settings and go to its Verification section. Only an organization Owner or Admin can view or submit an org verification request.

If you don't manage the gallery, ask an Owner or Admin to submit the request. Members without an admin role can't access organization verification.

Eligibility

Before you can submit, your account must meet all of these:

  • Onboarding complete — your profile basics and introduction are filled in.
  • Account is active — not suspended or restricted.
  • Not already verified — you don't currently hold an approved badge.
  • No pending request — you don't already have a request under review.
  • Within the daily submission cap — there is a limit on how many verification requests you can send per day.

If you're not yet eligible, the Verification page shows a Requirements checklist with each item marked done or not done, so you know exactly what to finish first.

Before you begin

Gather what the form asks for so you can complete it in one sitting:

  • The account type that best fits you (Artist, Gallery, Curator, Institution, or Other).
  • Your legal or activity name.
  • A contact email you can verify (a link is sent to it).
  • A short rationale describing your activities, achievements, or key works.
  • A few reference links (official site, press, exhibition or award records, institution pages).
  • At least one supporting document. Do not upload sensitive personal documents such as ID cards, passports, or bank statements.

Submit a request

  1. 1Select your account type. If you choose Other, enter a short label for your account type.
  2. 2Enter applicant info. Provide your legal or activity name and your contact email, then click Verify email and click the link sent to that inbox. The link expires in 60 minutes and the form updates automatically once you confirm. If you already have a verified email on your account, you can pick it as a shortcut without re-verifying.
  3. 3Add your rationale and reference links. Write the rationale and add the required number of links (use Add Link for each).
  4. 4Attach supporting documents. Upload at least one document that supports your claim.
  5. 5Review and submit. Confirm the identity statement, acknowledge the Verification Policy & Review Criteria (open it with View Policy & Criteria), then click Submit Request.

The Submit Request button stays disabled until your contact email is verified, both confirmation checkboxes are ticked, and at least one document is attached.

The review lifecycle

Every request moves through a clear set of states:

  • Pending — your request is queued and under review. The page shows an Under Review banner with your submission summary.
  • Approved — verification is granted and the blue check appears on your profile.
  • Rejected — the request was declined; the reviewer's note explains why.
  • Cancelled — you withdrew the request yourself before a decision.

An approved badge can also later be revoked by the operations team — for example, if submitted information turns out to be inaccurate, the account violates the guidelines, or the verified entity no longer exists. If that happens, the page shows a Verification Revoked notice, and you may submit a new request.

Review typically takes about 3-7 business days. The result is delivered to your registered email and also shown on the Verification page.

Cancel, and resubmit after rejection

  • While a request is Pending, you can withdraw it with Cancel Request (no cooldown).
  • If your request is Rejected or Cancelled, you can resubmit anytime. The form pre-fills your previous answers and keeps your earlier documents so you can edit and resubmit quickly.
  • When resubmitting after a rejection, read the reviewer note shown at the top and address the feedback before submitting again.

Once approved

After approval, the blue check appears next to your name. For organizations, it also shows on the organization profile and on its space cards. To change or remove an approved badge, contact the operations team.

Never upload documents containing sensitive personal information (ID cards, passports, bank statements, and the like). Submissions that include them may be rejected for security reasons. Uploaded documents are stored securely, used only for review, and are not shared publicly.
